Year 5 student have got their emotions in order!

This week in Year 5 we participated in a Cyber Safety lesson titled ‘get your emotions in order’. Developing personal character strengths, particularly resilience and empathy, requires young people to establish a vocabulary to be able to identify, communicate and process feelings and emotions. When things go wrong online, it helps if a young person can recognise the emotions they may be experiencing and draw upon known strategies in managing these, to keep themselves and others safe.

Students used Emotion Cards to complete a series of sorting challenges which included sorting the emotions from best feeling to worst feeling, most likely to experience online to least likely to experience online, and from easiest to spot in others online to hardest to spot in others online.

We were very impressed by the insight and maturity our students displayed during this lesson.
