- We have a parenting seminar series coming up in a Term 2. It will be run right here at BHPS on Tuesday mornings after drop off for 6 weeks from Tuesday April 29. Mark it in your diaries and stayed tuned for further details. Parentzone (Anglicare) will be running the series on Managing our Child’s anxiety. There is no cost to attend, however places are limited and bookings essential. If you’d like to book yourself in now, please let me know mcintosh3@education.vic.gov.au
- The Family Relationship Support for Carers (FRSC) Service run by EACH currently has NO WAITING LIST for counselling. This service is based in Ringwood. The FRSC program provides a statewide service offering counselling, mediation and future planning support for families caring for someone with a disability or mental health condition. The service is free. - We are very fortunate to receive fruit and other food items from Foodbank each week. Students will have a constant supply of fruit in their classrooms to supplement what they bring from home. I also have basic hampers for families who need some extra support. If you would like a hamper, please get in touch with the school office or call or email me at mcintosh3@education.vic.gov.au We are also thankful to Eat Up for their support in providing cheese sandwiches for those in need of lunch.
- Yellow Ladybugs Conference is 3-5 June 2025. This conference is for those supporting autistic girls and gender diverse students at school and beyond. For more information, see their webpage https://ylb2025.vfairs.com/
- Have you heard of the Fathering Project? They look to support Dads and father figures aims to promote positive fathering behaviours and fathers’ engagement with their infants, preschool, primary school and adolescent-aged children Take a look at their website! https://thefatheringproject.org/
- ADHD Unfiltered Parent Night : Presented by Tony Vallance from Building Better Brains, this free parent information evening will provide a toolbox for supporting young people with ADHD. - Free 2 Be Me Free 2 Be me provides a fun and safe space for young people aged 11-14 who identify as LGBTIQA+ or are questioning. Sessions run fortnightly in Knox after school hours. For more information or to refer a young person contact: Luis Castanon 9298 8000 luis.castanon@knox.vic.gov.au
- Kids Club – Eastern Health A monthly, ongoing peer support group for children aged 8-12 years (grades 3-6) and their parent/carer in families where a parent has a mental illness.
