Action Painting Inspired by Jackson Pollock
The Prep artists explored action painting, inspired by the work of Jackson Pollock. They practised making movements in the air before letting the paint fall onto the paper, creating expressive and energetic marks.
Using shades of blue, they experimented with action painting techniques to create water-like effects. These artworks will become the background for their next art project.
Year 1
Bowerbirds
Year 1 students explored the fascinating world of bowerbirds and their incredible ability to create sculptural forms called bowers. After reading Bowerbird Blues, they learned about different hues of blue and how these birds carefully collect and arrange objects to attract a mate.
Inspired by this, students gathered twigs from around the school to construct their own ‘bower’ and decorated it with a collection of blue objects.
