This past week has seen many Victorian communities face the worst flooding the state has experienced in decades. The effects on impacted communities will likely continue for some time, especially given the predictions of ongoing rain in some areas. I know that many of you have friends and family and other connections to the flood effected areas so hopefully they are not too impacted.
Market Day
Thank you to everyone who attended our very first Twilight Market event last Friday. Apart from the weather that didn’t seem to hinder anyone, the night was a huge success. A massive thank you to our Hubsters who put many hours of organisation, time and energy into the night. A special thank you to Leia Barrett and Joh Schaap who with careful planning and expertise had the night running smoothy from start to finish.
We raised a whopping $7,500 which will go towards our news playgrounds. Just such an amazing effort thank you to everyone.
Premiers Reading Challenge Pizza lunch
The lucky grade winners for our Premiers Reading Challenge is 3H. This class read the most books for the Premiers Reading Challenge which was an outstanding effort. This class pulled together and worked as a team to be the successful grade level but of course they were even bigger winners because they practised their reading. Enjoy your well-deserved Pizza Kids!!
Colour Run
Thank you again to our Hubsters for the totally fun and enjoyable Colour Run held today. A special thankyou to Tracy Vervoort and the Hubsters whose organisation around this event was amazing. Not only was this a fun way to get fit running around our beautiful ovals but the money raised will also go towards replacing our playgrounds. Thank you, kids’ families, and staff for great support of this event.
Prep Transition
Our second Prep Transition occurred this afternoon. It was terrific to welcome our new Preps for next year again and see them engaged in activities with our specialist teachers. Michelle Moya our Occupational Therapist gave such an informative talk that I know supported and guided parents in understanding their child’s needs. For future reference, please enter the school at the gate closest to the Prep building, the front gate will also be open for your convenience. We are asking that you arrive 10 minutes early to settle your child in the gym sitting behind their allotted coloured cone, the same colour as last week. Please then make your way up the Prep building.
2023 Enrolments
With planning and preparation well underway for 2023, it is vital that we are aware of enrolment changes for next year. If you know that your child/children will not be attending Boronia Heights Primary School in 2023, it would be appreciated if you would inform teachers and the office staff as soon as possible. Your attention to this will assist us greatly with forward planning.
End of Year events
This term is shaping up to be extremely busy with many activities being offered in every year level. Please make sure that you read all information being sent home, so your child has the opportunity to be involved in everything on offer.
