Staff Profile – Mathew Anderton
Name: Mathew Anderton
Your Role at BHPS: Principal
Previous School: Pakenham Hills Primary School
Birthday (NOT year!): 19th July
Family: My wife, Narelle, and four daughters named Sophie, Claire, Erin and Lainey. My extended family is quite large – I have an identical twin brother, two younger brothers and a younger sister. They all have children too, which makes family celebrations quite a squeeze.
Pets: I have a golden Labrador named Ben and a cat named Blossom. Ben loves to eat socks!
Hobbies: When the weather is nice I like to play golf. I can hit the ball OK but I’m not winning the Australian Open anytime soon. I also like to coach my daughter’s netball team. When I get some “downtime” I might play a board game or the Playstation with my family.
AFL Footy team: Geelong Cats
Favourite Food: Thai food would have to be my favourite style of cuisine. I love a good Thai Green Curry with some jasmine rice and roti to dip into the curry sauce. Yum! I also enjoy a good, hot coffee and some chocolate on the side, especially on those chilly winter days.
Favourite Book or Movie: My favourite book would probably be “The Lord of the Rings” series by J. R. R. Tolkien. They’re very long books that took me ages to read, but I’d happily read them again. My favourite movie of all time is “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back”. As a kid growing up in the 1980’s, the original Star Wars movies were a big feature of my childhood, so I love all the movies and TV shows.
Favourite Colour: I support the Liverpool Football Club and they’re red, so my favourite colour is probably red.
2023 BHPS Yearbook is now on sale!
The Boronia Heights Primary School Yearbook is available for ordering now on Compass. This annual publication celebrates our school community and most of all, our wonderful students. Photos of all students and school programs are showcased in our school yearbook. It is a special keepsake for children and families to read for years to come.
The yearbook will be distributed to students who purchase it at the end of Term 4. Once we have placed numbers with the printer, no more copies can be ordered.
Orders close on Friday 20th October. Don’t miss out!
Crazy Camel Art Fundraiser
During the last term of our Visual Arts lessons, students have been hard at work creating stunning artwork for our upcoming Crazy Camel fundraiser. From Prep to Year 6, our talented students have designed eye-catching pieces that can be printed on a set of beautiful greeting cards.
Many of our young artists chose to focus on creating Christmas-themed artwork, perfect for turning into a set of festive Christmas cards.
We’re excited to announce that orders for these unique cards will be open from Friday, October 13th, until the 3rd of November. Detailed instructions on how to view and place orders for your child’s artwork will be sent out closer to the opening date. Additionally, these special cards will also be available for purchase during our Market Night.
Thank you for supporting our students’ creativity and our Crazy Camel fundraiser. We can’t wait to share their wonderful creations with you!
