Integrating iPads in Year 3
Throughout the year, the students in Year 3 have been consistently integrating their iPads into all aspects of their learning. This week, students have used technology to consolidate their understanding of the Numeracy Curriculum with flip, slide, turn and symmetry!
Students used various apps to demonstrate their learning. These have included:
- playing the game Tetris – this prompted discussion on the geometrical features of the shapes in the game, as well as how the shapes can be manipulated to fit together
- the Scratch app – this allowed students to use their creative skills to flip, slide and turn their chosen character, with the view to making an animation. The program also teaches the students coding skills and directions
- the Sketches app – to create digital symmetrical artwork and explore Indigenous pieces as well
