Year 1 – Echidna Collage

Year 1 artists explored shape and texture while creating their own echidna collages. They used oil pastels and watercolour paint to make colourful landscape backgrounds, then carefully cut and layered paper to form the spiky echidnas.

Year 4 – Fibre Sculptures

Year 4 artists learnt about the Tjanpi Desert Weavers as inspiration for their fibre sculptures. They discovered how Indigenous women from 18 central desert communities create vibrant and expressive sculptures and baskets using locally collected grasses. Inspired by these artists, students created their own 3D fibre sculptures of animals native to Australia, using a variety of materials to form imaginative and quirky designs.
